Check In

Check-In Policy:
We recommend that passengers traveling domestically be at the airport at least an hour and a half before departure. Those travelling internationally should plan to arrive two hours prior to departure.
Check-In Counter:
- Opens 90 minutes before departure
- Closes 30 minutes before departure
Minimum check-in time:
- 30 minutes prior to departure | Customer is traveling domestically without checked baggage
- 45 minutes prior to departure | Customer is traveling domestically with checked baggage
- 90 minutes prior to departure | Customer is traveling internationally with or without checked luggage
Check-Baggage Screening:
- Opens 90 minutes before departure
- Closes 30 minutes before departure
Keep your photo ID and your ticket, boarding pass, or a copy of your itinerary (if you are traveling on an electronic ticket) easily accessible. You will need to show your photo ID and travel documents several times.

· Military ID card
· Passport
· Resident Alien card
· Photo employment ID issued by country, state or federal agency
*Travel with shoes that come on and off easily, you will be asked to remove your shoes during the security check points.
Carry-on Bag
- Passengers are allowed 1 carry on bag
- Size 24” x 17” x 10”
- 25 pounds or less
- Passengers can bring a small bag or purse in addition to the carry-on bag
*Passengers are advised to carry-on medicines, keys, passport, and travel documents

Checked Bags
- Size must be equal or less than 62″ total
- 50 pounds or less
Baggage Agreements:
United Airlines does not have baggage transfer agreements with all of the airlines operating from Denver International Airport (DIA). If you are unsure, check with your airline before booking.
*All other connecting flight baggage will be returned to passenger in Denver, and need to be rechecked.

- Seat belt extensions not provided by United
- Devices that restrict the recline of seats

Pets
- An in-cabin pet may be carried in addition to a carry-on bag and is subject to a $125 service charge each
On June 18, 2018, United implemented new embargoes and restrictions for travel via United PetSafe.
- United transports cats and dogs only via our PetSafe program.
- Please note new breed embargoes for certain purebred and/or mixed-breed brachycephalic (or short- or snub-nosed) cats and dogs and strong-jawed dogs.
- You may book your pet’s travel up to 30 days in advance, but all reservations must be made at least 5 days prior to each pet’s departure.
