Kearney Flight Services Ribbon Cutting and Open House With Denver Air Connection

Kearney Flight Services would like to invite members of the public for a Ribbon Cutting and Open House of their new facilities. During the open house, there will be a chance for attendees to meet the Denver Air Connection crew, ask questions and tour the Denver Air Connection Jet that will be servicing Kearney Regional Airport.

The event will be held on Wednesday, October 5, from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. The Ribbon Cutting will be at 3:30 p.m. Kearney Flight Services is located at 4985 Airport Road, Kearney, Ne. Food and drinks will be served. Stop by for a chance to win one of ten round trip tickets to Denver!

United Airlines to Reinstate Flights Booked November 1 and Beyond

Travelers that have received notification that their Kearney to Denver flights have been cancelled from Kearney Regional Airport starting on November 1, 2022, will have their tickets automatically reinstated by United. This notice was sent to ticket holders due to the SkyWest schedule being deleted from the booking system, however, United is currently working to upload the Denver Air Connection schedule and when that process is complete tickets will be reinstated for travel from Kearney Regional Airport.

Kearney Regional Airport Air Service Schedule

Denver Air Connection will begin daily, nonstop jet service from Kearney Regional Airport to Denver International Airport on November 1, 2022. The schedule for service is expected to be announced on Friday, September 2, 2022.

To assist booked passengers, Denver Air Connection has agreed for November and December to maintain a similar schedule to the current SkyWest schedule.

Denver Air Connection Selected to Provide Air Service at Kearney Regional Airport

City Manager, Michael Morgan, announced today that the U.S. Department of Transportation has selected Denver Air Connection as the Essential Air Service provider for the Kearney Regional Airport.

The two-year contract awarded to Denver Air Connection will begin on November 1, 2022. Denver Air Connection will operate 50 passenger regional jets with 12 nonstop roundtrip flights per week to Denver International Airport.

Denver Air Connection owns, operates and maintains its entire fleet of aircraft at their base located at Centennial Airport in Englewood, CO. This location ties them to Denver International Airport which enables the company to control and effectively manage its stringent operational and maintenance programs to the highest standards.

Denver Air Connection will feature bookings, connections and baggage transfers that will access United Airlines and American Airlines global network. Flight schedules and prices will be announced soon.

City Manager Morgan commented, “The safety and reliability of Denver Air Connection demonstrated in several communities as part of the EAS program will ensure Kearney continues to offer outstanding air service”.

Kearney Regional Airport Breaks March Enplanement Record

In the month of March, Kearney’s daily non-stop jet service to Denver and Chicago with United Express served 2,435 passengers. This is an all-time monthly record for the month of March.

Kearney Regional Airport Exceeds October Monthly Enplanement Record

In the month of October Kearney’s daily non-stop jet service to Denver and Chicago with United Express served 2,617 passengers, which is an all-time monthly record for the month of October.

Through October 2021, Kearney Regional Airport has served 19,741 total passengers – up 19% from recording breaking 2019.

SkyWest to Continue Air Service with United Express at Kearney Regional Airport

City Manager, Michael Morgan, announced today that the Department of Transportation has selected Skywest Airlines as the Essential Air Service provider for the Kearney Regional Airport. The three year contract extension awarded to SkyWest will begin September 1, 2020 and run through August 31, 2023. SkyWest will operate 50 passenger regional jets with twice daily non-stop service to Denver and Chicago. Daily jet service to Chicago O’Hare International Airport will return to Kearney Regional Airport on September 1, 2020.

SkyWest is part of the United Airlines network which will be marketed as United Express. The carrier will feature bookings, connections and baggage transfers that will access United Airlines’ global network.

Kearney Regional Airport Celebrates a Record-breaking 2019

Kearney Regional Airport set an annual enplanement record in 2019 with 21,269 enplanements. This is a 63% growth from the previous annual enplanement record which was 13,042 in 2013.

Since the start of air service in September 2018 with United Express, the Kearney Regional Airport has had 14 consecutive record-breaking months. In December 2019, the airport added an additional daily, non-stop route to Chicago. With the Denver route and new Chicago route, December was an all-time monthly record with 2,953 enplanements.
