Baggage

It is important to remember baggage information can change frequently. Use this information as your starting point, but always check with your airline for any changes as you book your flights.

Passengers are permitted one free carry-on bag (not exceeding 30 lbs or 50 linear inches) and one carry-on personal item (not to exceed 41.5 linear inches). Due to limited space in the aircraft cabin, your carry-on bag will be checked at the gate and returned to you at your destination. Personal items (such as purses, briefcases, or laptop bags) must meet size restrictions, based on aircraft type.

If you are connecting to a flight on another airline, please review that airline’s carry-on baggage policies as well.

Personal Item

Personal items (such as purses, briefcases, or laptop bags) must meet size restrictions, based on aircraft type.

Carry-on Bag

Passengers are advised to carry-on medicines, keys, passport, and travel documents

Screening of Carry-on Bags

  • Liquids and gels must be in containers of 3.4 ounces or less. Place your containers in a single, one-quart zip-top plastic bag
  • Remove the plastic bag from your carry-on bag and put it in a screening bin
  • Place metal objects, such as coins and keys, in your carry-on bag
  • Put laptop computers and other electronic devices in a screening bin
  • Remove shoes, jackets and belts and put them in screening bins

Do not carry ammunition in your checked or carry-on luggage. While this may sound obvious, it’s amazing how many shotgun shells and bullets are confiscated by airport security everyday.

Checked Bags

Passengers traveling from Kearney to Denver on Denver Air Connection are allowed two (2) free checked bags. Additional bags and overweight/ oversized bags will be subject to a fee.

For each ticketed customer, Denver Air Connection will transport, subject to space and additional fees, up to three (3) checked bags per passenger. All baggage beyond the first checked bag is carried on a space available basis. All checked baggage is subject to an additional charge.

  • Checked baggage may not exceed 50 LBS or 62 linear inches.
  • Overweight baggage charges will apply to each checked bag exceeding 50 LBS but less than 75 LBS.
  • Bags weighing in excess of 75 LBS will not be accepted for travel.
  • Oversize baggage charges will apply to each bag between 62 and 80 linear inches.
  • Bags exceeding 80 linear inches will not be accepted for travel.
  • Baggage charges are cumulative. More than one charge may apply to oversized and overweight bags.

Checked Baggage and Connecting Flights

Please read the following information carefully. Depending on how your itinerary is ticketed, you may need to claim your checked baggage and check it in with your connecting airline. If you have any questions about whether your baggage is checked through to your final destination, please ask an airline representative when checking your bags.

If your Denver Air Connection flight is booked in the same reservation with a connecting flight on United or American, your baggage can be checked through to your final destination.

For passengers who are not connecting to United or American flights, or who have purchased separate tickets for their connecting flight, you must claim your checked baggage from the baggage claim and recheck with your connecting airline. In this case, Denver Air Connection cannot claim your baggage from another airline. If you do not claim your own baggage from your other airline, consult your other airline for their policies on unclaimed/abandoned baggage. If you feel that you will not have enough time to make your connection, please contact our call center to change to a later flight, subject to any applicable change/cancellation fees.
